Holy Cow! The Story Behind the Udderly Nuts Labels

If you’ve taken a close look at our jars, scrolled through our website, or hung out with us at a festival, you’ve probably noticed a common theme. We’ve got cows on the labels. We’ve got cows in our logo. Heck, our entire name is a giant dairy pun.

Which leads to the single most common question we get in our inbox: “Wait... do you guys actually milk cows? Is there dairy in this peanut butter?”

To set the record straight: No, we aren’t running a dairy farm, and no, we aren't milking almonds. Here is the true story behind the Udderly Nuts herd and why our hairy friends are the heart and soul of our brand.

🥜 1. The Puns Are Just Too Good

Let’s be honest—grocery store peanut butter is boring. It’s flat, beige, and takes itself way too seriously. When we started tossing entire chunks of birthday cake, brownie bites, and marshmallow fluff into our blenders, we knew standard language wouldn't cut it. We needed a vibe that was completely, beautifully over-the-top. Udderly Nuts perfectly captured our energy: it's loud, it's a little ridiculous, and it instantly lets you know that the flavors inside the jar are absolutely insane.

🎨 2. The Faces Behind the Jars (Meet the Herd)

The cow on our logo isn't just a random graphic—he's our herd sire on our actual Highland cow farm here in Butler, Missouri. Rory was the first cow we purchased when we started our highland herd, and he’s fun, playful, and the perfect mascot for our brand. Now, we have several highlands on our farm that also grace our labels, including Poppy, Greta, Khaleesi, Holly, Glo, and Ellie.

🥛 3. "Udderly" Ridiculous Ingredients

While standard peanut butter is just nuts and salt, our brand demands more. To earn the Udderly Nuts stamp of approval, a flavor has to be loaded to the maximum limit. That means rivers of caramel sauce, thick layers of buttercream frosting, and textures that require a serious spoon. We treat every single batch we mix in our kitchen like a blue-ribbon prize winner at the county fair.

So, the next time you scoop a massive chunk of peanut butter out of your jar, give a little nod to the cow on the label. Rory is there to make sure your snacks stay wild, fun, and udderly legendary.
